Work-Based Learning (WBL) opens the door for students to explore careers, gain hands-on skills, and make valuable industry connections — all while helping employers build their future workforce. From internships and apprenticeships to job shadowing and other experiential opportunities, we connect students with meaningful work experiences that bring classroom learning to life.

For Students:

Discover potential career paths, strengthen your resume, and develop professional confidence. We’ll match you with the right opportunity, guide you through the application process, and help you prepare for interviews after completing our professional skills course.

For Employers:

Partner with us to mentor emerging talent, fill workforce needs, and shape the next generation of professionals in your field. We’ll work with you to identify the right students for your organization’s needs.

SPARK Grant:

Want to have paid interns without the cost to your company? Through CVCC's newest SPARK Grant (Skilled Pathways for Advancement, Resilience and Knowledge) through the Virginia Dept. Energy, reimbursements are available for companies who offer 6- or 12- week internships in the Skilled Trades / IT / Cyber Security that pay at least minimum wage. CVCC will provide mentorship training to help you host the best internship experience. Contact us for more information.
