Family Medical Leave (FML) provides any full-time employee up to twelve (12) weeks (1250 hours) of unpaid family or medical leave in a calendar year because of the birth of a child or the placement of a child with the employee for adoption or foster care, because the faculty member is needed to care for a family member (child, spouse, or parent) with a serious health condition, or because the faculty member’s own serious health problems makes him or her unable to perform the responsibilities of his/her position. This policy shall be administered in accordance with Department of Human Resource Management, Policy 4.20.
