Do you have a story you want to share with the world? Have you ever wanted to write a play? Led by professional playwright, James McManus, this class will introduce you to the craft of playwriting. You will learn to develop characters, write dialogue and create plot for a short play. Through a series of guided writing exercises and the analysis of dramatic texts you will discover your individual voice and narrative structure. This class is for everyone. It doesn't matter if you have ever stepped on stage or put pen to paper, your life experiences qualify you to tell engaging stories. We only have a handful of spots available, so start off your summer by learning how to write a great story for the stage. All participants under age 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during the entire class session.

This is a ten-week class, meeting on Tuesdays, August 27 - October 29, 2024, 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm.
