Central Virginia Community College (CVCC) will host the annual Welding Wars competition on Friday, April 24, 2026. Competitions will begin at 8:30 AM in the Campbell Hall Welding Labs, followed by an awards ceremony at 12:45 PM in Merritt Hall, Room 5122.
This event brings together high school, collegiate, and professional welders for a day of hands-on competition and technical skill demonstration. Welding Wars highlights the region’s growing workforce needs while giving participants the opportunity to showcase their abilities, connect with industry professionals, and compete for awards and career opportunities. The event will also include an “Arcs and Artistry” showcase, celebrating the creative side of welding through artistic competition.
Attendees can observe live welding competitions, engage with local business and industry representatives, explore CVCC’s welding program, and learn more about training pathways in high-demand skilled trades.
