Job Descriptions
Accounting: Assist the Cashiers and Accounting Office staff with office tasks and projects. These tasks will range from shredding and filing of paperwork to updating spreadsheets and working with accounts payable, accounts receivable and student accounts. Projects will be assigned depending on availability, office need and skill level. The ideal student will have good computer skills – Excel and Word - and good communication skills. The work study student will work with confidential student data.
Admissions and Records (A&R): Individuals with great customer service skills, outstanding phone etiquette, high attention to detail, the ability to manage confidential data, and basic computer skills. The primary responsibilities of the position will be to greet customers at the A&R service window: answer incoming phone calls: and provide students with information related to the college application, enrollment, transcripts, etc. Also assisting with scanning and linking documents electronically to student accounts. Coverage is primarily needed between 12 noon and 5 p.m. Monday – Thursday and from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. on Fridays. Training will be provided for all tasks and work schedules will be determined within the allowable number of Work Study hours granted.
Call Center: Outbound calls to prospective students and former students engaging them to enroll. Schedule appointments for them to meet with their Counselor to sign up for classes. Looking for individuals that have an outgoing personality, friendly, responsible, can work independently, and is dependable.
Career Services & Ridgecat Den - Administrative Assistant: Seeking friendly, creative, & organized individual, not afraid to take initiative, and enjoys brainstorming new ideas. Good communication & computer skills are a plus. Excellent opportunity to learn valuable skills for your career. Responsibilities: Career Services Center: Greet & inform students, schedule appointments, collect pertinent student information, basic data entry, create Excel spread sheets, organize email groups, promote activities, and assist Career Services Navigator as necessary. Ridgecat Den: Greet & inform customers, oversee Ridgecat Den, encourage donations, assist customers with equipment, keep track of inventory, maintain food & drink displays, keep area clean, assist with advertisement & promotion, and all other duties as necessary. Career Services Center is open from 8 AM – 5 PM Mon. – Fri. Ridgecat Den is open for self-service from 8 AM – 7:30 PM Mon. – Thurs. & 8 AM – 5 PM on Friday. Career Services Center & Ridgecat Den are located in Bedford Hall library.
Culinary Assistant: Assist the Chef and students with daily recipes, mise en place, cleaning of kitchen. To take Inventory of Walk-In’s and Dry Storage areas and organize inventory daily, throwing away old items if needed. Replenishing gloves, utensils, trash can liners in appropriate places. Check in food orders from outside vendors.
Dual Enrollment: Assist with filing/shredding and other duties as assigned. Scanning documents into perceptive content
Financial Aid: Duties include greeting students/families as they walk in, answering their questions, answering phone, scanning and filing documents. Other office duties as needed. Looking for a friendly, outgoing, personable, responsible student worker.
Fitness Center: Friendly and welcoming, check IDs of everyone entering, help users with equipment, enforce Fitness Center rules, put equipment back in its proper place, and clean the equipment at the end of each shift.
Human Resources: Accurate filing of documents in employee files. Make new files as needed, for example a medical folder for an employee. Filing new employee’s paperwork in the proper sections of the folder by putting the folder together. Filing of I-9s. Terming files and moving I-9 to appropriate terminated section. Make copies as necessary and scan documents and files. Shredding of documents. Boxing up documents and label correctly for storage. Hand out forms to employees for changes. Run errands across campus. Distribute incoming mail to HR personnel. There are frequent special projects.
Media Specialist: The media production work study position requires some knowledge of photography, illustrative and layout design. Assist in capturing of photos and video footage for both internal and external marketing. Work with media specialist to produce marketing materials for events on campus, including but not limited to committee, department, and student activities. Photograph some college events and post to social media.
Public Safety Programs: The Public Safety Programs encompass a diverse range of critical fields, including criminal justice, fire services, emergency medical services (EMS), and emergency communications. As part of our commitment to excellence, we are actively seeking a dedicated work study assistant to support our program with various administrative tasks, such as - filing, scanning, and copying documents, data entry, maintaining office organization and cleanliness, shredding confidential documents, delivering paperwork to other offices, and undertaking other ad-hoc tasks as directed by the Program Director.
Student Resource Specialist: Entry level outreach work, focusing on outreach with Single Stop, a platform dedicated to connecting students with essential resources and services. You will play a crucial role in supporting student success by facilitating access to benefits and support services. Responsibilities: Conduct outreach efforts to raise awareness among students about Single Stop services. Engage with students to assess their needs and connect them with appropriate resources and benefits. Provide guidance and assistance in navigating the Single Stop platform and accessing available services. Collaborate with campus partners and community organizations to expand outreach and service delivery. Maintain accurate records of student interactions and outcomes using designated systems. Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.

Responsibilities: Conduct outreach efforts to raise awareness among students about Single Stop services. Engage with students to assess their needs and connect them with appropriate resources and benefits. Provide guidance and assistance in navigating the Single Stop platform and accessing available services. Collaborate with campus partners and community organizations to expand outreach and service delivery. Maintain accurate records of student interactions and outcomes using designated systems. Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills. Assist with SNAP screenings/application assistance. Assist with food insecurity programs on campus; other duties as assigned that align with the colleges mission!
TRIO Office Assistant: The Tutor/Office Assistant for the CVCC TRIO Student Support Services program will greet students when they come into the TRIO Lab, tutor students, assist the Office Manager with daily tasks, help with recording student participation, data entry, filing records, scanning, copying, keep the TRIO lab in order, contact students to set up appointments, and completing other tasks as assigned.
Welcome Desk: First point of contact for Advising Services and Financial Aid Office. Greet students, parents, faculty and staff as they enter the office, answer basic questions and/or refer students to the appropriate department or staff member. Answer, screen, and forward incoming phone calls and emails, and assist with appointment scheduling. Courteous, friendly, and good communication skills.
