The Basic Rider Course (BRC) is a complete entry-level, learn-to-ride class. This 15-hour class consists of classroom and on-motorcycle instruction. Riders will learn basic skills of motorcycle operation and safe riding strategies under controlled range condition. The BRC program provides motorcycles (none larger than 500 cc), helmets and textbook for each rider. In the classroom, students will learn about different types of motorcycles, layout and operation of the basic controls, and street strategies to avoid trouble and stay safe. Upon successful completion of the course, students are provided a Virginia license waiver to be taken to the Division of Motor Vehicles for endorsement purposes.
