Central Virginia Community College (CVCC) is pleased to announce a new initiative offering no cost dual enrollment courses for high school students. Starting in Fall 2025, students can take college-level courses at their high schools, taught by qualified high school teachers, at no cost.
This initiative aims to provide high school students with the opportunity to earn college credits while still in high school, giving them a head start on their higher education journey. By removing financial barriers, CVCC is committed to making higher education more accessible and affordable for all students in the Central Virginia region.
"We are thrilled to offer this opportunity to high school students in our community," said CVCC president, Dr. John Capps. "By providing dual enrollment courses at no cost, we are helping students get a jump start on their college education and easing the financial burden on families. This program is a testament to our commitment to educational excellence and accessibility."
The dual enrollment courses will cover a wide range of subjects, including transferrable general studies and career technical education (CTE) courses, allowing students to explore different fields of study and gain valuable college experience. High school teachers who meet the qualifications set by CVCC teach these courses, ensuring that students receive high-quality instruction.
