Ways to Support CVCC Students

The satisfaction in making a charitable gift to Central Virginia Community College comes from knowing that you are investing in the lives of local individuals and in improving the quality of life in our region. By supporting the College's students, programs, and facilities you help ensure excellence in the education, training, and services we can provide for our community in the future.

"We are the best hope and the last chance for many of our students. Community colleges are the Ellis Island of higher education - for most of America, nothing less than the point of entry to the American Dream. I like to think of it like this: at CVCC, we make a difference. We make a difference where a difference needs to be made. And the most important thing is that it's a difference that would never be made at all if it weren't for us."

Dr. John S. Capps, President, CVCC

Annual Campaign

Unrestricted and restricted gifts are received on an annual basis. Unrestricted gifts are most useful to the Foundation in funding those priorities determined annually by the foundation's board of directors working in conjunction with the leadership of the college.  Restricted gifts for annual scholarship awards, endowments, instructional equipment, and other designated purposes provide much needed long and short-term support of students and programs at CVCC.

Planned Gifts

Deferred gifts of cash, securities and real property must be accepted by the CVCC Educational Foundation Board of Directors. These gifts may endow scholarships, facilities, faculty or administrative chairs, and operational requirements of divisions, departments or programs.

Gifts-in-Kind

Donations of instructional equipment or other educationally related goods or services may be accepted by the Foundation. Approval of the appropriate academic dean or administrative vice president is generally required. Gifts-in-kind donations of property are transferred to the College and thus become assets of the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Questions pertaining to gifts should be directed to Mike Bradford, Executive Director of the CVCC Educational Foundation, Inc. at 434.832.7293.
