Course Descriptions for: BLD
BLD 105 - Shop Practices and Procedures
Introduces basic hand and power tools with emphasis on proper care and safety practices. Introduces materials used in building trades including metals, plastics, and woods with stress placed on the processing techniques of each. Emphasizes fasteners such as screws, rivets, and glues as well as brazed, soldered, and welded joints. Lecture 1 hour. Laboratory 2 hours. Total 3 hours per week.
NCCER Core is a pre/co requisite to all other Level 1 NCCER curricula. Modules cover topics such as Basic Safety, Communication Skills and Introduction to Construction Drawings to provide students with the basic skills needed to continue education in additional NCCER programs. 1 hour lecture; 4 hours lab. Total of 5 hours per week.
