What does it take to become an Ambassador?
Strong academic, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Desire to share your Central Virginia Community College experience with others
At least a 2.5 GPA, with a minimum of 6 credit hours completed at CVCC by the end of fall 2016. Current high school students are not eligible
Availability to serve as an Ambassador during the following semesters: Summer 2017, fall 2017, and spring 2018
Ambassador Expectations (Required):
Attend Ambassador Trainings
Attend the VCCS Student Leadership Conference
Maintain at least a 2.5 GPA each semester: Spring 2017-Spring 2018
Maintain enrollment of at least 6 credits during fall 2017 and spring 2018
Staff at least 30 hours of campus service per semester, during fall 2017 and spring 2018
Ambassador Job Responsibilities:
Provide tours of campus to visiting groups
Provide direction to classes the first week of each semester
Assist with information tables at the beginning of each semester
Mentor incoming freshman students
Involvement with student presentations and student panels
Help during registration in the Counseling Department/Enrollment Center
Help during student activities events (such as picnics, Super Saturday, etc.)
Help during Open House
Ambassador Program Benefits:
Develop leadership skills and build your resume
Serve the CVCC campus community
Get to know other student leaders, as well as key faculty and staff
Obtain a $1,000 scholarship: $500 for fall 2017 and $500 for spring 2018
