Now that you have applied for admission to CVCC, there are a few simple things you need to know.  This page will help you with what to do now that you are a proud CVCC Student! 

New Student Checklist
 

  Apply for admission and select a plan of study- Done!

  Apply for Financial Aid

  • Complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
  • Enter the CVCC School Code of 004988 to have your information sent to CVCC.
  • Check your CVCC email account for notification of financial aid application status.

  Determine your College Readiness in Math and English.

  • Placement tests for Math and English are given in the CVCC Library.
  • Monday – Thursday from 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM (5:30 PM being the latest you can start the test)
  • Friday from 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM (3:00 PM being the latest you start the test).
  • You will need your Student ID# and a picture ID to take the test. You can also take the placement test at our off-site centers. Check the off-site centers for appointment hours.
  • The tests are computerized, untimed, and take about 4 hours to complete both tests.

  Meet with an academic counselor to enroll in classes and select a plan of study if undecided.

  Pay tuition or verify that your Financial Aid award has been posted to your account.

  • You can pay for your courses in the Accounting Office (Amherst Hall room 2208) or online by credit card through your "myCVCC" account.
  • Tuition due dates for each semester are posted on the Academic Calendar section of the website.
  • If you are eligible for financial aid your award amount will be posted on your myCVCC account.
