How to know if the MyCVCC update impacts you

If you are using SMS or email for Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) to access MyCVCC today, how you access MyCVCC will not change.

If you are using a security key e.g. Yubikey, for MFA, your security key will be registered to the updated MyCVCC on your initial login.  No additional steps are required.

If you are using pictograph for MFA, you will be asked to select a new set of three icons on your initial login to the updated MyCVCC.

If you are using the Rapid Identity mobile app, Microsoft Authenticator or Google Authenticator, for MFA, your MyCVCC account will be impacted by the update.

  • After the update, which was scheduled for Thursday August 1st 2024, you must complete the steps provided below to access MyCVCC.
  • Please select your MFA method from the list below and follow the instructions provided.

When you access the MyCVCC login page after the update for the first time, the system will prompt you for your username.  Upon entering your username, you will be prompted to claim your identity.  This is a verification process to ensure someone else isn't impersonating you.  Upon successful verification, you will be prompted to create a new password and setup your MFA.

This video says it's for first-time users, but this is the same process for users using the Rapid Identity Mobile App.

The new password requirements are:

  • Minimum Password Length: 14 characters
  • Maximum Password Length: 100 characters
  • Three of the four complexity requirements listed below:
    • at least one lowercase character (a-z)
    • at least one uppercase character (A-Z)
    • at least one number (0-9)
    • at least one of these symbols (!, @, #, $, %, &, *, (, ), ?, :, -, blank space
  • Your password cannot include your:
    • first name
    • last name
    • student ID number (EMPLID)

When you access the MyCVCC login page after the update for the first time, your existing username and password will continue to work as it did before the update.  But you will be required to setup a new entry in your authenticator app for the updated version of myCVCC.
