CVCC LIBRARY SERVICES DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC
  • To limit exposure and ensure community safety, CVCC is suspending face-to-face library services during the COVID-19 pandemic.  Our building is presently closed.
  • ‚ÄčLibrary Curbside Services - Is there a book or DVD you want to check out from the CVCC Library? If so, we can get it to you! You can request the item you wish to check out by emailing us at: Library@centralvirginia.edu or go to the Library QuickSearch catalog.
    • Please include your e-mail and a phone number where we can contact you.
    • Library staff will then check out the items you requested and contact you to arrange a pick-up time in the parking lot behind Bedford Hall.
    • Call the Library at 434-832-7750 and we will come out to your car with your items.
  • The Library is still providing research assistance to our students!  If you need help in using library resources or locating sources for your papers and assignments, we’ll be happy to assist through email, by telephone, or by Zoom appointments. 
  • Please contact the library at library@centralvirginia.edu or 434-832-7750 for research assistance or to set up an appointment.  We are answering emails and phone calls on Mondays-Thursdays 8am to 7:30pm and Fridays 8am to 5pm.

 CVCC Has a Limited Number of Loaner Laptops!

The Library has a limited number of laptop computers which students, with 6 or more credit hours, can check-out for the semester. Please click on the link above to go to the online application.

QuickSearch is a one-stop solution for the discovery and delivery of local and remote resources, such as books, journal articles, and digital objects.

Ask a Librarian, our online reference service, enables you and a reference librarian to chat online, in real-time, assisting you with your research. How do I get my Student ID/Library Card?
CVCC will issue a Temporary Student ID for fall semester 2020. It will expire January 2021.
To get your temporary student ID:
  • Send a request via your VCCS e-mail to: library@centralvirginia.edu
  • Or call 832-7750
  • Next, the library staff will verify your identity (students will need their Student ID # to go through the verification process)
  • Once this information is verified, the student ID card will be filled out and emailed to the student’s CVCC email
  • The Library can print out Student IDs for students and mail them if needed

These ID’s can be used for bus service.  GLTC will accept the temporary ID for students who do not have an ID from previous semesters.
