Your financial aid award cannot be determined until your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) has been completed. Before you apply online, create a FSA ID that lets you sign your FAFSA application electronically.

The earlier you complete your no-cost FAFSA, the sooner you’ll know if you are eligible for financial aid.

If you are enrolling this fall 2021, spring 2022, or summer 2022 be sure to submit the 2021-22 FAFSA.

If you are planning to enroll fall 2022, you will submit the 2022-23 FAFSA beginning October 1.

Step 1.  Complete the online admission application.

Step 2.  Choose a program of study that is financial aid eligible (if unsure contact Counseling).

Step 3.  Submit your FAFSA, which will determine what aid you are eligible for, by going to and apply using the federal school code for CVCC: 004988.  If you are under 24 years of age, then you may need a parent to help complete the process. Submitting the FAFSA does not mean you have completed the FAFSA. The Financial Aid Office may need additional documents from you in order to finalize your financial aid. 

Step 4.  Check your To-Do List by logging into the Student Information System (SIS).  Submit any additional documents needed to the Financial Aid Office.

Step 5.  Review your financial aid award notificaiton. You will be notified via email and text as well as your myCVCC Message Center when you have been awarded. 


Note:  Additional types of financial aid may require additional forms be submitted to the Financial Aid Office.
