The Advanced Rider Course (ARC) is a one-day course designed for the intermediate to advanced rider. This course enhances your basic skills and helps you to assess personal risk. Classroom activities are designed to improve perception and hazard awareness. 10 Range exercises enhance both basic operating skills and crash-avoidance skills. There will be an emphasis on braking and cornering finesse and other exercises that include but not limited to: Quick Stops, Curve Adjustments, Sweepers and Reverse Turns, Decreasing Radius Curves, and trail braking.
Program requirements:
  • Valid M2 or M motorcycle endorsement
  • Personal motorcycle that is street legal, registered and inspected
  • Proof of motorcycle insurance
  • Sufficient off road, parking lot, or on-road experience to perform basic maneuvers
  • Completed a learn to ride course, such as the Basic Rider Course or dirt bike school
  • Currently (actively) riding a motorcycle
  • Sturdy shoes high enough to cover the ankle
  • Full fingered gloves
  • Long pants without holes in the legs (denim jeans are suggested).
  • Long sleeve shirt or jacket
  • Eye protection (sunglasses or eyeglasses are suitable for range conditions)
  • At minimum a ¾ shell DOT approved helmet must be used while on the motorcycle range (no skull or half helmets permitted)
  • Students under 18 years of age must have parent’s signature on waiver forms
Students will not be permitted to ride if they do not meet program requirements.
