This program is designed for the student who desires to obtain professional development opportunities in criminal justice and to provide an  overview of the field.  Upon completion of this program, the student may continue their studies in the Administration of Justice AAS program.

Courses in this program fulfill requirements for the Administration of Justice AAS degree.  The Criminal Justice Career Studies Certificate program alone is NOT eligible for financial aid.  Interested students should consult an academic counselor for further information.


Individuals are eligible for admission to CVCC if they are high school graduates or the equivalent, or if they are eighteen years of age or older and able to benefit academically from study at the community college, as demonstrated by assessment in reading, writing, and mathematics.


  • Access to a computer that meets or exceeds the PC Specifications for Non-Technical Programs.
  • All students expected to complete the requirements for a degree, diploma or certificate must complete an Application for Graduation.

  •     the recommended order in which to take the program courses
  •     suggested course when more than one option exists
  •     which semester each course is typically offered
  •     if the course has a prerequisite
  •     courses that may lead to a certificate (if offered in the program)
