AWARD: Career Studies Certificate LENGTH: 1 Year
This program will allow students the opportunity to pursue certifications in CPR, Emergency Medical Technician, Firefight I, Firefighter II, and HazMat Awareness. These certifications are obtained through the Department of Fire Programs and the Virginia Office of Emergency Medical Services (EMS). They are required for employment in the Fire and EMS services.
The Fire & EMS Career Studies Certificate program alone is NOT eligible for financial aid. Interested students should consult a counselor for futher information.
Individuals are eligible for admission to CVCC if they are high school graduates or the equivalent, or if they are eighteen years of age or older and able to benefit academically from study at the community college, as demonstrated by assessment in reading, writing, and mathematics.
