Instructions for performing basic actions in the Navigate Student

Enrolling in Classes
  1. Log into myCVCC using Google Chrome.
  2. Click on the Navigate Student tile.
  3. Use either the My Academics Plan or the Search tab to find classes by subject and catalog number.
  4. Click on Add Term if the term you are wanting to plan is not showing.
  5. Drag and drop courses from your Plan into the term.
  6. Click on the Pick Times button to proceed selecting your sections.
  7. In Preferences, you can select to see on-campus or online courses.
  8. Click on a course to see the available sections. Use the View Details or More button to confirm campus location and class type.
  9. Drag and drop the section into the calendar to tentatively schedule the section.
  10. Once you've selected all of your selections, click the Register button. If your registration is processed successfully, you will receive a confirmation note that you're registered. If your registration was not processed successfully, you will receive an error message that you can review.
Explore Majors
  1. Log into myCVCC using Google Chrome.
  2. Click on the Navigate Student tile.
  3. Click on My Major.
  4. Take the Major Explorer is located under the Consider These heading in the center of the page. This will help match the programs and careers that best fit your interests.
Make an Appointment
  1. Log into myCVCC using Google Chrome.
  2. Click on the Navigate Student tile.
  3. Click on Appointments on the left side of the screen.
  4. Click on the Schedule an Appointment button.
  5. Select the type of appointment (Advising or Tutoring).
  6. Select the Service (reason) for the appointment.
  7. Select the location.
  8. Select the staff member you would like to meet for the appointment.
  9. Choose a day and time for your appointment.
  10. Confirm your appointment.
Planning Classes for Future Semesters
  1. Log into myCVCC using Google Chrome.
  2. Click on the Navigate Student tile.
  3. Use either the My Academic Plan or the Search tab to find classes by subject and catalog number.
  4. Click on Add Term if the term you want to plan is not showing.
  5. Drag and drop courses from your Plan into the term.
  6. Once the enrollment period for the semester you are planning for has started, you will be able to click on the Pick Times button to start the enrollment process.
Resources
  1. Log into myCVCC using Google Chrome.
  2. Click on the Navigate Student tile.
  3. Click on Resources on the left side of the screen.
  4. Click on the topic for which you would like more information under Places.
  5. Clicking on the subjects that come up will give you a brief description and link and/or contact information for more information.
Study Buddies
  1. Log into myCVCC using Google Chrome.
  2. Click on the Navigate Student tile.
  3. Click on Study Buddies on the left side of the screen.
  4. Choose the classes that you would like to join Study Buddies groups by clicking the Join button on the right of the class listing.
  5. In Study Buddies groups, you can connect with your classmates for help with homework, study for exams, share study materials, and meet with classmates. The number of students that have already signed up to be in the Study Buddies groups for each class will be displayed on this page.
To-Do List
  1. Log into myCVCC using Google Chrome.
  2. Click on the Navigate Student tile.
  3. Click on To-Dos and Events on the left side of the screen.
  4. Your To-Dos and Key Dates will appear in the center of the screen.
  5. Click the checkbox on the left to say that you have completed the To-Do or click the View Details link on the right to get more information.
