CVCC Virtual Local Board Meeting – July 15th, 2020

LYNCHBURG, VA – The Central Virginia Community College (CVCC) Local Board will next meet on the Internet on Wednesday, July 15, 2020, beginning at 4:30 p.m. using a virtual ZOOM online platform connection. Board members, CVCC staff, and the public, should  “log-in” to the meeting using the following ZOOM meeting hyperlink https://vccs.zoom.us/j/92095383522.

Due to the pandemic, this new method is necessary and will take place with guidelines provided by the Virginia Community College System (VCCS) and the state of Virginia. State community college local boards must now provide public access to the meeting by using videoconferencing technology.  This is what CVCC will be doing on Wednesday, July 15.

Pursuant to this recent legislation, local college boards may now meet electronically without a quorum present in a single location. Therefore, CVCC will hold an electronic local board meeting on July 15, at 4:30 p.m. in accordance with § 2.2 3708.2 of the Code of Virginia and Chapter 1283 of the 2020 Acts of Assembly to conduct regular business (see attached agenda).

The public may witness this meeting using this Zoom meeting URL https://vccs.zoom.us/j/92095383522 or by dialing this phone number 301-715-8592.  If the meeting is interrupted by a technical problem, the public may notify the board by calling the phone number and/or by re-clicking on the Zoom meeting link. These are open meetings; however, the board will not solicit or receive public comment.

Other details include:
•    Recording or transcript: CVCC will be posting a recording or transcript of the meeting on its website as soon as possible.
•    Voting: Board votes must be taken by roll call.
