CVCC Earns 2021-2022 Military Friendly School Designation

LYNCHBURG, VA – Central Virginia Community College (CVCC) has earned the 2021-2022 Military Friendly School® designation.  Institutions earning the designation were evaluated using both public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey.  Over 1,200 schools participated in the 2021-2022 survey with only 747 earning the designation.

“Central Virginia Community College is honored to once again be chosen as a Military Friendly School,” said Tina Murphy, CVCC Veterans Coordinator. “Honoring its commitment to serve the educational needs of military students, the college offers a broad range of services and resources focused on the needs of veterans and service members to enhance a smooth transition from the military environment to campus life, thus leading to academic success, graduation and employment opportunities.”

The Military Friendly Schools list is created each year based on extensive research using public data sources for more than 8,800 schools nationwide, input from student veterans, and responses to the data-driven survey from participating institutions.

Patricia Saffioti, CVCC Dean of Student Success said, “CVCC is well known to be accessible, flexible, and affordable for all students.  We are particularly proud to be engaged in serving our students who have served our community with distinction.  We are committed to our military students and will ensure their open pathway here at CVCC.”
