Press Release - 10/22/2018

LYNCHBURG, VA – Central Virginia Community College (CVCC) will be hosting its Fall Open House on Thursday, October 25, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Merritt Hall multipurpose room on the main campus location in Lynchburg.

“This open house will be a great opportunity for high school students and the community to connect with faculty and staff and learn more about what CVCC has to offer,” said Patti Saffioti, CVCC dean of student success.

The open house is meant to focus on prospective students for spring 2019 enrollment in Career Technical Enrollment (CTE) programs, transfer credit and degree programs, and non-credit Workforce Solutions courses and programs.

“Attending the open house gives a prospective student the chance to meet CVCC staff and get a feel for the campus, as well as to build personal connections.  When attending an open house event, people can see examples of CVCC class offerings and schedules so they can work with the counselors to create a career plan,” stated Ashley Marlowe, a current CVCC student.

The CVCC Enrollment Open House event will have information on:

  • Admissions
  • Academic programs
  • Transfer degree pathways
  • Workforce/career pathways
  • Transfer of course credits procedure
  • Financial aid
  • Meetings with faculty and staff
  • Showcase of student support services
